SIR CHRISTOPHER WREN TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL
'Formerly High School for Building'
An Early 1960's View of the School Building
On this site you will find a history of the original school, which was a board school in 1878, up to its final days in 1969.
You will also find photographs and price lists of the various uniforms; an article about George Hanby, a former head and writer of many geometry books; a list of some of the former teachers; pupils memories; photographs from yesteryear and of current times; hundreds of photographs from the school reunions of 2008, 2009 and 2011; the school prospectus; a list of pupils we are trying to trace; and a transcript of the school magazine ‘Cornerstone’ from 1956 to 1960 (High School for Building days) and 1963 after the school was renamed Sir Christopher Wren Technical High School.
There may be parts of the history that need ‘tweaking’ and expanding and other parts that need to added to e.g. photographs. If you have any further information to add please send them to me at
firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01430
